My name is Amanda Wilson, and I am a 4-H agent in McCracken County. I’m originally from Illinois, and have been a resident of Kentucky for 6 years.
My passion is working to positively impact the lives of youth. This position allows me to carry out my passion on daily basis. My education resume consist of a Bachelor of Science & Master of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences with a concentration in Family Service, both from Eastern Illinois University.
Previous positions held were in youth counseling, management, and working in the school system. My local 4-H career began in January of 2010, and I’m grateful for this opportunity. I have a heart for the youth of McCracken County, and strive to provide quality programs that will educate, motivate, and empower all that participate.
I choose to live by the famous quote from Norman Vincent Peale that states “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars”. It is my belief that we, as humans, can achieve whatever we desire to achieve.
This is what I hope to convey to the youth of McCracken County. They are ALL special, they are ALL cared for, and they can achieve WHATEVER goal they choose. Simply put… I strive to “Make the Best Better”- 4-H Motto!
